Ivan shifted his weight from one knee to the other, trying to take his weight off certain pressure points, without making other bits of himself sore in the process. If nothing else, his attempts to get more comfortable distracted him slightly from the panic racing through his veins.

He wasn’t used to being on his knees for any real length of time, let alone kneeling on the hard floor. He glanced at the pillows on his bed. If he’d been thinking clearly, he might have put one of them under his knees before he got down there.

Now, it was too late. If Langdon came back and found him halfway onto the bed as he reached for a pillow, it might ruin everything. That couldn’t happen.

Ivan closed his eyes unable to ignore his fears for another second. This had to work. He had to fix things.

Forget a good first time, there was far more to play for now. Ivan sensed it deep down in his soul. The possibility of not having Langdon in his life made his heart race until the beat threatened to spiral out of control. He needed Langdon in a way he hadn’t even known was possible until he found himself so close to losing him.

A shiver ran down Ivan’s spine. He wasn’t accustomed to hanging around in his room bare-arse naked either. The air had seemed warm enough when he was dressed, but it was surprising just how much difference a few layers of thin material could make.

Kneeling naked alongside his bed wasn’t exactly comfortable, but it quickly became more about a test of mental and emotional endurance rather than a physical challenge. Surrounded by hundreds of books, Ivan realized that, for the first time in his life, he wasn’t allowed to read any of them.

He couldn’t do anything without Langdon’s permission. In a room full of books, he had nothing to read, simply because Langdon hadn’t granted him that privilege.

There was no reading for pleasure to be thought of. There was no pressure to make the most of his time and get some extra studying in either. Ivan rubbed at the back of his neck. A moment later, he pushed his hand through his hair. Halfway through that action, he hesitated. Was this something else he needed Langdon to grant permission for? Was kneeling there fidgeting following the spirit of the other man’s orders as well as the letter of them?

Remembering all the photos he’d seen online, Ivan placed his hands behind his back. A little bit of fumbling and he wrapped his right hand around his left wrist in a way he thought he’d be able to maintain for quite some time.

Yes, that felt better, in a situation where everything had gone wrong, it seemed wonderfully right. Ivan took a deep breath. His ribs shook with the effort he put into controlling every part of his body.

For all his trepidation, his cock was as hard as whatever rock anybody might have cared to produce for comparison. Ivan bowed his head and stared down his body.
